Amway River Bank Run

The Amway River Bank Run is one of the largest and oldest road races in the United States, held annually in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The event takes place along the Grand River and through downtown Grand Rapids, traditionally in early May. This race is also the winner of the Best Weird Distance Fly Award 2024 and Best 10K Fly Award 2024.

The race was first established in 1978 and has grown to become a significant event in the running community. It features multiple race distances, including:

• A 25K (15.5 miles) race, which is the marquee event and serves as the USA 25K Open Championships
• A 10K (6.2 miles) run
• A 5K (3.1 miles) run
• A 5K walk
• Various kids’ events and activities

The 25K course is particularly notable as it’s the only 25K race in the country to host a national championship event. This has attracted elite runners from across the United States and internationally, making it a prestigious race in the running calendar.
